Leigh Rush Olson holds a BA in History from CUNY Brooklyn College and is a certified Portland History Docent by the Maine Historical Society, in collaboration with Portland Landmarks. In volunteerism, Leigh advocates for RAINN, and is a Daughter of the American Revolution where she served two appointed terms as Maine State American History Chairwoman. Moreover, Leigh is a Portland native (born and raised), and a resident of Kennebunk, Maine where she actively contributes to community service as  the Administrator of the West Kennebunk Neighborhood Watch.
